We all had dreams of becoming something great, like a doctor, a teacher, or a dentist to name a few. I wanted to be an Attorney, but I didn’t accomplish that goal due to the LSAT. I took the test several times; but, I was not a good standardized test taker. However, I am still in the business of helping people. Did you become what you wanted to be in life, or did you become something else? Life is interesting and things change. The older we get, our tastes change, our views change, and even our goals change.
One of the most important lessons I have learned during my career and business path is to do something you love to do. Why is this important? I feel that if you enjoy what you do, you end up being happy in more ways than one. You will not look at it as work, but as something you absolutely love to do, hence life itself becomes much more interesting and fun.
You will find yourself speaking passionately to others about your work. The experiences you have along the way become much more rewarding and enrich your life in many ways. Not only will you enrich your life, but you will make a great impact on their lives and enrich their lives. Not to mention along the way, you will meet some meeting amazing people.
I know people who have turned their favorite hobbies into small businesses and have succeeded. They love getting up every day and doing what they do. Many of them had to sacrifice a steady paycheck for their happiness, but none of them gave up. Their purpose and passion provided them with the fuel they needed to succeed.
If you are considering a change, it’s important to ascertain the skills and knowledge you need to pivot to your new job or business. If you are not satisfied with your current situation, take the steps now to change it. You must remind yourself that there is a job or business that is perfect for you. If you are already there, I applaud you, but many are not. If you are not there, realize that it may take some time to figure out what you want to do, and even more time to get there. That’s all right! I can tell you from experience that finding and doing what you love is worth it, every step of the way. Each job, professional training, and hands-on experience has made me a stronger, wiser, and happier person.
If you are ready to take that next step and you want to do what you were created to do, let’s connect. I always remind people to do what they love and love what they do, and they will be happier and at peace. Trust me, you will never look back.
